Anyone dig these guys? I just fall completely for their brand of slinky visionary blues, and Rutili's slow smoky voice.

Quite honestly one of my favorite artists ever.

If you've never heard them before, I suggest starting with either the Heron King Blues or Roomsound albums.

They exist somewhere in the middle of folk/blues, avant electronics, and with a slight tinge of psychadelia in the mix, especially when it comes to lyrics.

Califone is the type of band that I absolutely love when I listen to them, but I pretty much forget about if I'm not reminded about them for some reason. Definitely a great band

I'm making a mental note to check them out, but it sounds like they'd be hit or miss for me.

Yeah, definitely suggest checking them out. I recommend Heron King Blues first.

If the idea you form in your head is that they're a blues band, I can assure you their blues and folk roots are properly masked with plenty of modern.
