"Thibodaux, Louisiana - An American woman was arrested for calling the emergency number 911 after a restaurant served her cold onion rings.

Sharita Williams, 30, of Houma, Louisiana, told police the food was cold when she received it and complained that the waiter refused to replace it.

She dialled 911 from the Malt-'n-Burger restaurant in Thibodaux, the newspaper The Daily Comet reported.

The police were quick to arrive - but only to arrest Williams for wasting their time. She is expected to appear in court in December"
