Hey guys,
To begin with, I've played Call of Duty 2 through, and I absolutely loved it. The gameplay was intense, and the visuals were stunning. As for my problem, the dynamic shadows are literally rectangles (static shadows are perfectly fine). I disregarded the shadows initially, but through further investigation, they simply will not go away. I've modified the settings manually, downloaded new drivers, reinstalled, and went to the extremes of totally reformatting my computer (rather idiotic as I am on 56k currently), but the problem remains. My computer is as follows:
DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR
BIOS 6/23/2005
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice @ Stock
2x1024GB OCZ PC3200 (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) @ 2-3-2-5
160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA HDD
NEC 3540A DVD-RW
eVGA NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT @ Stock
OCZ PowerStream 520w P/S
Onboard Sound
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2
I should also note that the system doesn't look to be the best, but I receive ~7000 3DMarks ('05 version), and I can run any game on the highest settings without a hitch with a constant framerate over 30 and the only limit I receive is the resolution which is 1024x768, but regardless, I would still play it on that resolution (the games I've played perfectly were Age of Empires III, Battlefield 2, Far Cry, F.E.A.R., Half-Life 2 Unreal Tournament 2004, and not to forget Call of Duty 2). I've questioned it myself, even playing the same games with the same settings on a separate machine sporting x2 7800GTX, a dual core 4200+, and 2GB of the same type of memory to see if the visuals were any different, but it seems I have a super-computer in disguise.
Here are a few screenshots with my problem. Disregard the quality; I had to lower it so I could upload it in a mannerly amount of time, as I am on 56k. The game actually looks 10x better on my machine. Anyway, if anyone could possibly help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
