Calling all time travellers

Lol, doubt any real time traveller will come.

My friend wrote his dissertation on time travel, discussing travelling at the speed of light, wormholes, black holes.

The conclusion was reached that although some theories would allow it to be possible, the main constraint was the violation of Quantum Mechanical laws (in that you cannot predict the future state of a particle).

Anyway, I am going to go there in the guise of a time traveller.:E

I'm from the future, and I'd like to attend!

We're not sure how you're emailing us from the future, but we'd love to have you! Come as you are! No dress code whatsoever.

Seems like a student joke, I have a friend that goes to MIT and he tells me about this sort of stuff.

Yeah, it kinda sucked a bit. Not my thing

It wouldn't be about predicting the future state of a particle, all you would need to do to travel into the future is to move to a dimension or a position where time moves slower then it does in the rest of the universe, after a pre-determined time, you go back into the normal universe and even though only 5 minutes have passed for you, 500 years could pass for everyone else.

I thought this was about coming backwards in time? Of course forwards time travel is possible (hence we flow forwards in time today).

Not so long ago everyone would have been talking about John Titor right now...

Funny how things change.

/me would love to go, but he simply hasn't the time.....

Probably because he carries as much credibility as Nostradamus.

Now it's jinxed :( Titor will be forever mentioned in this thread.

God my fingers are stale, should ware gloves next time I bike.

Well, if you think about it, it does make sense. If people ever did manage to travel back in time then they would come. I dunno why no one tryed this out before really, if no one comes then time travel is impossible so why bother trying?

or the people of the future are just too lazy to come..

hmmm... wish i could go, sadly i still don;t know how to set the coordinates correctly, better luck next time, i guess

Time travelers have very specific rules about who they can tell, where they can travel and where/when they can go.

Yeah I guess so, with all the change one slight thing in time and make a big impact thing

The comments page of that Slashdot post made me stay up late last night.

Bastards.

I'd love to go but I have a meeting with Sir Issac Newton on how to overclock his processor.

Sorry gyus.
