I am looking to sell my car, and I have realised that I've lost half my car related documents when I moved house. ARSE. Anyway, I need to look at getting replacements etc, and I need to know the name of the document that shows ownership, specifically, the one with the bit at the bottom you fill out to transfer ownership.

Could anyone who has such a form, nip and get the Doc number of it, from the top corner. It usually something like "D4" or some such on DVLA docs.

Any help appreciated.

As is always the way, despite about 20 minutes of searching, 10 seconds after I posted on a forum, I found what I needed, and have ordered the form I need (?25 QUID!!! Damn you DVLA). Its a V5C that I lost, and the replacement form is a V62 just incase anyone happens on here with the same problem.

Glad you found it, but for christs sake, get a file or a briefcase, SOMETHING to keep that information safe, secure and accessible. I've been charged so many times for missing forms and lost paperwork on a number of things.

Keep a second copy of your documents in your glove compartment. Whenever you lose the original (which should prefably be in a safe), you can always refer to the copy.

I've got mine in my fireproof safe box ... I doubt i'll sell my car though - The only way i'm parting with her is when she's a twisted wreck. Much like my ex GFs are.

Interested to know which car you have
