Hey Veterans,

For a personal journalism project I would like to speak with veterans of any war to date about their feelings on violence in gaming and war simulations. Any view can be expressed and I will withhold names from the final story (if requested).

Just a simple correspondance via email would be perfect, I'll just ask a few questions about your military experiences, how they compare/relate to games, and your current feelings about the subject.

Please email me at [email protected] with your rank, what war(s) you have/are participating/participated in. Being in actual combat is not a requirement, but I would like you to have some knowledge of gaming (if you are reading this here you most likely do) and a fairly close connection to some war or military operation.

Thanks for your help,

Adrian Ward

I fought in the Australian, American war...as an impartial observer.

(Sorry I couldn't resist. I think there will be few vets on these boards, and even fewer real ones)

Do you mean Veterans from World War 2? Or just people that have served in the armed forces?

Might be some Iraq war guys here, who knows maybe even some Gulf war folks.

Argh, I thought you meant forum vets, I'm out...

Well, there have been a number of wars on these forums Bad Hat, you must of at least fought in a few of them? :E .

This is also a subject i would love to know about, so if the veterans would allow it, you should see if you could post your final paper up on here or something?

I was in the `Nam...NO I WAS NOT!! :] I think you should ask in some war forum..

I was a veteran of the great Forum War, back in '04 and '03. It was hell.

In all seriousness, I doubt you'll find war veterans here, simply because they most probably have better things to do.

Several times I believe. I'd say that comes close to acts of genocide against the Conversation of IRC.

The UN must be called upon.
