He is exactly the same as Tony Blair, just a bit younger with stiffer prunes behind him instead of a bunch of trade unionists. The man is nothing but a career politician, and they're the people who are about as least trustworthy as you can possibly get. He's making the same unfulfillable promises Blair did in 1997, and the only real difference is that he has to play to the right wing crowd from time to time with his idiotic statements about immigration and the like. And whilst you say "I hate Blair for the Iraq war", take a look at the Conservative party. They have a much deeper tradition of keeping in line with the US in terms of warfare. You're kidding yourself if you think it'd be any different with them in power.

Fact is that none of the parties are fit for government right now in my eyes. Blair's too weak, had Brown continued on he'd be out within the month I reckon. Brown's proven himself too power hungry, ruthless and not nearly trustworthy enough. Fact is that he's trying to capture the government away from the leader we all elected, not too long ago at all. The rest of Labour is either a bunch of cronies or unionists. Nobody wants either.

I'd vote for the Lib Dems, but Ming Campbell is about as interesting as a sack of potatoes. They've gone from Something Different to Something I'm Bored About.

So yeah, while the Labour party is tearing itself apart, don't think the Tories won't be any different in about 10 years time.

Blair has always been weak, before he entered office he stated not one nation should take on the role of the UN. I think he was reffering to America and possibly ourselves(UK).

Yet when Bush did exactly that Blair stood up, saluted Bush and said how high Sir?

The conservatives are just as bad because they would have done the same thing.

we need somebody like el chi, hectic glenn or kangy in office IMO.

somebody my age (19).

Not to mention the election system doesn't represent the popular vote.

your right kirov. how do you think we can make it better?

hmmmmm :O

Well, the obvious choise would be to switch from the first past the post system for the proportional representation system.

Anyway, the next man who should lead this country is Boris Johnson. You know it makes sense.

what would everyone rather see? a weak lookin guy like tony blair? or an ard lookin guy like california's own, Arnie.

:O

Good post, 100% agreed.

Nowadays British politics is less about who has the best policies, and more about who has the best PR department.

I despair at times, I really do.

I'm behind George Galloway.

I'd agree with you, the tories are scum. Besides, Tony Blairs the best conservative PM we've ever had.

I vote Kirovman, then he can strip us of civil liberties and put all of the money in SCIENCE :D

it's amazing to think that similar kinds of 'glorious new dawn' delusions are afflicting cameron supporters now as were afflicting labour supporters in '97

Totally right, none of the parties at the moment are in a good condition in my mind to lead our nation into the future...if Boris was in charge now that would be a different story!
