I was watching the news and one of the storys was that there was a campaign against violence in games, and some stores are taking games off shelves.

Soem of the games mentioned were ; Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto 3, Manhunt.. and more.

They are trying to ban Manhunt, I think it must of been Max Payne 2 and GTA3.. WTF? :flame:

And more details anyone?

protest ...give them what they are giving you ...protest about rights and free speech ..send letters to members of parliament ...but dont just sit on your duff and do nothing. That's what they want. Gamers are such pussies (not referring to you or anyone else on this board, just to gamers in general) they let these radical fringe groups censor what we can and cant play. Screw them it's about time we stood up and said "enough of your witch hunt, games are not responsible for murder"

/rant :)

And what do you bet Doom 3 will be added to that list before long? :hmph:

and any other game that features guns, fighting, questionable language, violence, bad influences, questionable wardrobe choices, long hair, exposed knees, ear rings etc

I've seen things on television so sick that Doom 3 seems like a Disney animation in comparison. But no one is concerned about television.

I can't believe Manhunt is being blamed for teaching someone how to kill someone with a hammer.

The guy was 17, by that age I think everyone knows how to kill someone with a hammer.

It's as stupid as claiming that Doom taught taught the The Columbine guys to aim. Can you imagine what someone who played Doom would look like trying to aim? Gun straight in fronr of his face, not looking up and down, just going from side to side?

Well they were, but ever since they realized kids spend more time playing video games instead of watching of TV they found a new scapegoat. Next thing you know they're gonna blame cell phones for acts of depravity

God damn parents, ffs, Rockstar has balls when they publish games, the GTA series pushed forth alot of other games to be more adult. Max Payne 2 has nudity, swearing, and is filled with drug and murder refferences, it owns. Now, instead of posting here, why doesn't the gaming community strike back and the parents that are doing this.

i wouldnt mind manhunt beind taken off of shelves... its just senseless
but max payne? come on now

Doom 3 is on their list, as well as SOF:2 and UT2k4.

It's not going to hurt Rockstar at all. GTA: SA is going to sell more than any of their games to date.

one thing is

all that ages are +18 rank
and all that parents maybe hav sons -18 age
and if theyr sos are too young to play that games
why they dont stop them to pla the game?
but nooo they are to lazy to evite the kids buy the +18 games so they make the protest

cuz one way to solve this problem is to no let -18 people buy or play the game

Some day people will stop protesting video games, or most people will just ignore them. Just wait for the day when the country is run by people who grew up with Super Mario Bros.
