Hey all. Just got back from 10 days of camping in Florida. This place was about 13 miles west of Lake Okeechobee. It was awesome. It was about 85 degrees Farenheit. Got back to Ohio and it was -5 degrees Farenheit with the wind chill. The campsite was five paces from the edge of a river/creek/stream. We had a 10-12 foot alligator constantly patrolling the water's edge. We was cool though. Owls, birds, lizards, gators, wild pigs, chiggers, mosquitos, wild cats, you name it. By far the best place I've camped so far.

Here is a link to the raw pics. I have to crop them and resize them, but figured I'd post these anyways. Hopefully the link works, I've never used this photo service before. I was using a piece of junk 5 mega pixel camera with a lens about the size of a dime so the pictures aren't that great quality wise. I tried to make up for that with decent composition.

Does anyone have any cool camping spots in the states? I'm ready to start planning my next one. -5 degrees. Give me a break. Ohio sucks.

Have fun, I know where that is. My grandparents live in Hutson FL

I had tons of fun. I've visited Florida a bunch of times, but never this far south. I'll tell ya, coming back to Ohio was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I didn't want to come back. How far is Hutson from the Lake?

Im not sure exactly, Hutson is 45 min. from Tampa Airport, And I know how hard It was comming back. I had that problem when we came back from the Bahamas. Here is a web page of where we stayed in the bahamas :)
http://www.atlantis.com/flash.aspx, Look all through the web site. GREAT place to stay. Expencive though. We stayed in the royal towers ( By the way when you are looking at this web site make sure you watch all the videos. they will send you into shock!

My girlfriend and I decided to visit the snow sometime during Winter Break or something and try to survive off of limited things and we have to hunt for our furs and stuff, it's going to be awesome! But, I want to go camping so badly!

Now it's winter i need to disappear into the wilderness for a few weeks.
I'm doing a tour of the uk's highest peaks at the end of jan.
Need to find a week to do some survival.

I hope you 2 know what your doing. The cold can be deadly if you don't know how to deal with it. I wouldn't suggest going up there and finding what you need to survive. You will have an awful time if you live through the ordeal.

Wow.. In a few weeks I'm going camping in Orlando, Florida Coincedince? I THINK NOT!! The answer is simple logic, you see - You traveled forward in time, found out I went camping, then decided to copy me, so you could look cool - SHAME ON YOU!!!

Seriously, cool pictures

Pff...the boundary waters is where it's at. I didn't have my sweet digital camera back when I went up there. Next time I will go and take some awsome pictures on just how beautiful it is up there.

Thank god I live in MN.

Truly remarkable!!! [/rathergood.com]
I wish I went there instead of Disneyworld when I was down there.
