Well English isn't my first language...but I got english in Collegeright now :(
bunch of grammaer stuff.

Here are some questions that I have.
How do I reconise a noun?
How do I reconise an adverb?
How do I reconise a preposition?
How do I reconise a adjektive?
How do I reconise a pronoun?
How do I reconise a verb?

This is really embarrising, and some of the above words sound familar in german but I cannot connect the dots.Help would greatly apreciated.

A noun is any object, e.g. Chair, Pencil.

I think a Pronoun is a noun with a proper name, e.g. Danimal, Sydney, Goatse.

noun is an object, cheese, pants, etc.
an adjective describes a noun. a fast cheeta.
an adverb helps the adjectives. like a VERY fast cheeta.
a pronon is a an informal name for something specific, he, she, it, they.
a verb is something someone is doing. Running, dancing.
a preposition... I think it's something that goes in between, not really anything else, but has a purpose... if, which, what.

An adverb describes an adjective OR a noun. "He walked QUICKLY"

A preposition describes location or situation:
in, on, under, during, throughout, while, around.

I aced english, so take it from me...

Advebs modify adjectives, verbs, or other adverbs. NOT nouns.. only a adjective can modify a noun/ pronoun.

Prepositions are words like "to" "from" "under" "by"
Example.
I went TO the store.
He stopped BY the store on the way home.

"Which" and "what" aren't prepositions, those are something else. I'm pretty sure that "which" is a relative adjective that goes on a clause beginning. And what is varied dependeing on the situation.

Gee.. come on people

Sorry, I meant verb but wrote noun as you can see in the example I used.

Man I got a D in english and I new all about adverbs, adjectives, preps, nouns, etc..

What I sucked at was reading books that will not help me in life at all. For example, Romeo & Juliet or How to Kill a Mockingbird. That and handing in my homework. English just never seemed important. If I can get my ideas from one person to the next I think I will survive.

Knowing all the events and what who said what in How To Kill A Mocking Bird opens up so many jobs for me and will really help me in life.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who learned this stuff back in 4th or 5th grade, and never forgot...

He knows more about my first language than I do! D:

How the heck could any native English speaker not know this stuff? O.o

Anyway, a little more info:
Direct objects:
Receive the action of the verb

I threw the stick

Stick is the direct object.

Indirect objects indirectly receive the action of the verb

I threw the dog a stick.

Stick is the direct object, and dog is the indirect object.

Anymore questions, feel free to ask ^_^

Oh man - coming to an online forum to pick up a second language. It'll work quite well for conversational English, but you'll be wading through bad grammar and punctuation just to get to some sketchy advice. PM or email me if you're seriously interested.
