Can anyone help me fix my registry?

I remember I was merging something with my registry and then I rebooted and it seemed like everything was working fine, but when i try to run windows applications like the adjust time/date thing and notepad, add/remove programs they won't start up. It's weird cuz windows media player will work and every other programs still works.
I know I should have backed up my registry before hand.
Am I looking at a reformat here?

That is why I never ever tell people to go in their registry. Bad things can happen.
