Can I Copy Steam Over Network?

I need to give counter strike to another computer because I cant be arsed to wait for it to download again.

Ive tried installing steam on the computer then copying over the SteamApps folder, just the counter strike folder, and ive tried copying the entire steam folder, none seem to work, Steam continues to download counterstrike even though its on there, any ideas?

try copying the .gfc files from steam folder to steam folder and remember to have Steam closed.

Are you using the same account or a different one?

tired my account and another account, the files are all in the right place, steam seems to be downloading counter strike over the top of the one i copied over, is it something to do with the registry

Not sure, might be a file that was changed to make it download after it looked to see if the preload files were there and it doesnt update once you actually put the files in. oO

Try uninstalling, deleting the folder, and trying on a fresh install.

ah fixed it, i just deleted the blob file
