Can some one please help me!?

Ok so i just got DOD:S and im all siked to play it cuz it I had so much fun playing in on that valve free weekend thing a while back and just now decided to get it... I pay for it it downloads and updates ( which is still takeing forever by the way. ) and i get in and find a server to play on, find one, click, load... more loading... sending client info... ok awsome im in! pick side... pick gun... run in circles for a while... the whats this!? lag!!!! i can settle for a server with lag!!! Esc... Disconnect... ok find new server... this goes on for about 15 servers before i get completely pissed off!!! WTF!!! why am i getting so much lag!? And this isnt just a little bit of lag, its a lot.. the kind that makes it to where you cant play cuz you see some one and you'll go to shoot them and whats this... no gun shot... nothing from the barrel... oh great... lag... then the next thing you know you dead or respawed... I get lag then i get booted for "my ping being to high" what is this!? What is my ping and how can i find a server with people in it with the same ping... and latency what is this... is it better to have a high latency or low latency? and one more this with my latency.... why does it keep changing every server i get into. one server it will be 750 some'n the next 500 some'n which i dont understand why this is considering my latency is with in the 75-150 in CS:S... can some one please help me out to fix this problem... oh PS ( whatever PS means... ): Just so you know its not my PC ( shoulnt be anyway ) obivously some thing with my internet connection which i still can understand because i can play CS:S flawlessly... well almost flawlessly but with very little lag or any such thing... so again... can some one please help me out?

ok... so i just tried CS:S and that doesnt even want to connect at all now... why doesnt this randomly happen when ever it feels like it?

It was... for one game it did that... now I don't get any servers at all... when I open up DOD:S, CS:S, & HL2: DM and click "find server" it just says could not connect to master server" I don't know why this is because I had no problems the other day until I installed DOD:S. I know there are no firewalls blocking them because I have no firewalls, I don't even have the default firewall built into windows ( don't ask, I just don't have it and I know why! ). Steam connects to servers just fine, then when I click "join game", through steam, it opens up the game then the game tries to connect then says "failed to connect after 4 retries" I don't understand why this is...
