Can someone answer this riddle?

"You are travelling to a far away land and become lost. You come to a fork in the road. One road leads to the Village of Truth - where all its occupants speak only truth. The other road leads to the Village of Lies - where all its occupants speak only lies. You are trying to reach the Village of Truth, but the sign is broken. Only a man stands at the fork in the road. You know this man to be from one of the two villages and has the potential to take you to the Village of Truth, but you don't know which village he belongs to. What do you say to him to get to the Village of Truth?"

You ask him to take you to the village of truth, because the riddle doesn't make sense otherwise. It would make sense if there were two men, one at each road, and you didn't know which one was lying and which one was telling the truth. In that case, the answer to the riddle is that you would ask the men 'if i asked the other person where his road lead to, what would he say?' And whatever they answer, the opposite answer will be correct.

this riddle is just stupidly easy, you just ask the guy which way it is to his village.

Negatory, that isn't the answer, Glenn. If you ask the liar to take you to the village of truth, he will take you to the liar village. Of course if it is the honest man, you will get to the truth village. So there is only a 50% chance you are right.

I am pretty sure my answer is the correct one.

Wrong. What if he was from the village of truth? Then you would walk the wrong way.

You ask "which way to your village?" and then go the way he points. The truth guy would point you in the right direction (to his village). The liar would point you away from his village (to the village of truth).

What if he isn't from either village?

Then based on that you will know what way to go.
