Can someone please help me with Dark Energy? (Possible spoiler)

I finally figured out what to do - destroy the spinning things that allow Breen to teleport. But even when all of them are gone, he still escapes, and I still loose. Is there something else I have to do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

u need to fire a couple of more balls into the white light after u destroy the spinning things.
