on either of my systems, can i run hl2 at medium settings with 800x600 resolution, and 40 FPS?

1st setup:
intel 2.26 ghz
512 ram
nvidia mx 440 128 mb

2nd setup:
amd athlon 64 3400+
512 ram
nvidia fx 5200

please someone give me a straight up answer, and if either of my setups cant run it at medium with 800x600 res and 40 FPS, can you give me an idea of how i can run it? please someone answer.

um you should get 40 fps on medium on direct x 8 with your second system depending on how well the card does. Maybe someone else with a bit more knowledge??

40 fps is pushing it for the first system, but you should get pretty close, but who knows, last time I played it on a comp almost exactly like that the beta was still very unoptimized. css beta that is.

wow this is great news. i didnt even think it would play on the first one. i know for sure i am going to get the game now, i am just praying i can find a spare CE, just because i never played the first hl, and hl:source and dod:source sounds great. hl2 here i come!
