can this system run HL2, what are the system specs?

These are my specs, can any one tell me if its all good?

-amd 2800xp+, barton, 333 mhz front side bus, |clock: 2.08 ghz|

-1024 mb ddr sdram, 333/166 mhz front side bus

-Nvidia, Geforce 6800 Ultra, 256mb DDR 3 ram, 8x-agp(4.0), SM 3.0, |clock:400 mhz|

-ASUS, A7v600 motherboard, (via kt600 chipset /north/)

-120 gig hard-drive, (serial ATA)

-sound blaster, audigy2 zs, 24 bit hd, (dx9.0c)

I know that it said something of a 2.4 ghz cpu reccomended, but I also know that AMD clocks slower than intel. is a 2800 good enough for a 2.4 intel or is the 2.4 an amd number.

I plan to get the new amd 64 but im out of cash i spent it all on the ultra.

Far better than the majority of players.

It requires a 1.6 ghz or comparable machine. Your's is equivalent to 2.8 ghz.

(although your cpu is a big bottleneck for a 6800 Ultra - not that this will matter in HL2 )

That'll be ok wont it , not bothered about having very high details etc

Seriously. Your PC SHOULD run HL2 properly.

But I'm guessing that you're going to have troubles with your autoexec.bat and config.sys files.

Also, you might have to upgrade to DOS 3.0

And while we're at it, have you considered buying a faster video card, because the one you've got is pretty slow. Get rid of that lame crap and put something fast in there.
