if so then City13 has a place for you, we are looking for a few new tracks to add into our mp3 system, mainly orchestral mixed with a few heavy guitar riffs

I could make the best orchestral music ever, but since you posted this in the wrong forum, I'm not gonna. :P

I know how to play the kazoo...
... Do ya need any kazoo music?

lol, Ikerous is the beethoven at the kazoo

I can compose music, I just need the pieces...

It depends on your def of orchestral. Hate to say it, but the best your gonna get is a music theory student with a korg triton MAYBE. What style are you looking for?

He is looking for classical orchestra with a mixture of guitar sections...

This would be suitable for a scene where a reniassance has happened (i.e Reistance pwn combine and everyone is free. Thus, the classical music ends as the more modern music starts, representing the change

a classical orchestra? that's like asking for the "modern man". I think what you mean is he wants a film orchesta i.e kind of orchestra done in films, but even that's a generalization, because these play a STYLE of music. If they played classical music it would sound like bethoven, with minuet in g and shit. Just because it has violens and cellos does not make it classical music.

Also, a "classical" orchestra is NOT a modern orchestra. A classical orchestra would play viola de gambes and 3 string basses and would lack saxophones or tubas of any kind.

To further illustrate what I mean by style, lets look at halflife. Although you could considered half-life to be "orchestrated" the style is techno. Halo 2 is about as close as you get to fully orchestrated soundtrack and the style is somthing like "world" with little bit of metal mixed in. It is nothing like classical music. The other extreme would be medal of honor which is also fully orchestrated, and once again it's NOT CLASSICAL MUSIC. If anything, it's "John williams" style music.

I'm not trying to bust this guys balls, I'm just trying to prove that, "what style is it in" is a valid question and "the style of orchestra and guitar" is not a valid answer. That's like calling heavy metal "the style of bass and guitar"

Also, the a line between Orchestrated, and orchestra has to be drawn, orchestrated means <loosley> to be written with lots of different instraments, where as orchestra is an actual group of musicians. A single keyboard player with a lot of time on his hands and some patience could do "orchestrated" but "orchestra" is the realm of paid musicians.

If you can't pinpoint which style youd like the music to be <which is totally understandable, you shouldn't be expected to be music theorist> then maybe you could give a good acount of the circumstances the music would be used in.

This is the last time I move one of your misplaced threads. Any future ones will be deleted and you'll receive a warning.

"mainly orchestral mixed with a few heavy guitar riffs"
hmm, I could probably come up with a melody, but just dont have the right tools for it :/

yeah, i can do that. Need a bit more info though. style, instruments etc.

Well just dramatic , like the intro of meil teil by Rammstein

never heard of it..
come on, if you're gonna get the kind of music you want you need to describe it a bit better..

Well basically stuff like the Halo 2 soundtrack, starts off very loud and drarmtic and as you move into the combat and the violence starts wearing off a bit and you look at the carnage it gets a bit atmospheric, in a moving way

well, ive sorta done a rough intro... whats ur email? ill send it to you and you tell me if its the kinda thing you want

i can make a moving orchestra song... depending on what mood you want. do you want like "oh somones dead.. but i gotta move on" type... or "omg i found my lost wife.. im so freaking happy" type.. or "we're all gonna die..." type? specify man!

hang on a sec - i'll just get my orchestra out of the box. haven't used it for a while <blows dust away> ;]
