I thought the answer was no, but when Alyx died I got this message:

no. thats just the default message from the engine in those circumstances. Although I thought it turned into "alyx died" in episode 1.

I think the gman still has control over gordon, but he is temporarily hindered.

I think that that's a bug. It's supposed to be replaced with 'Alyx Died', but what if Barney died...? :|

When running back from relocating the second to last batch of citizens to the train, I found the Entire doorway of Barney’s stoop covered in what had to of been 6 or more Combine. Yet ever after that and a rocket later Barney still lived.

I do believe he’s grown Superman like ablitys.
