Our Mod will be boasting around 5000 poly player models, and 2000-3000 poly weapon view models...

This will be no small project...

You can up the poly count on the players to 7000...thats what valve uses.

We may indeed up the count to 7000, but it was said that "depending on function and how many we hope to have on-screen simultaneously," we are hoping to up the multiplayer numbers to around 40 - 60 players. which means slightly less detailed character models will most likely be in order.

No, I don't think I can model to Half-life 2's standards. Sorry.

Nope, I can't either.

.... actually, I can't model at all :cheese:

nah i definatley can not model to HL2 standards. The mind recoils in horror at the mere thought of modeling to that standard

It depends on what you want modeled. The ONLY thing I can't model very well (Read suckage) are player models/characters, I can model vehicles, weapons and other things pretty good though. I won't get into my textureing, for some reason everything I texture I hate. I can do some animating too.

The only thing I don't like about your mod is I think you might be trying to do too much. From the looks of things with all the different scenarios you'll have the mod is going to be twice as big as the game once all the textures, models, animations, maps and everything else gets put into it.

Just an oppinion, it's not meant as a flame or anything. I like the character model you have done already it looks great.

We're changing up how we're going about release a little, We are only going to be working on one scenario at a time, first will be the RedMoon Arena. We will beta test it and tweak it until the gameplay is perfect. Depending on beta results, this will be the only scenario in the release, and we will regularly release new scenarios as they are completed. This will give team members the option to take breaks in between projects (i.e. the scenarios) and new ones to join that are interested in helping with an upcoming scenario thet catches their eye. If you are interesded in weapon modeling for this first scenario we have a dedicated texture artist, so all you have to do is be able to build a high quality/poly weapon models (2500-3000 polys.) The weapons we know will be in it so far are:
HK MP5K
HK G36C
HK PSG1
FN P90
FN Five-seveN
Walther p99 9mm
Glock 19C 9mm
Desert Eagle .50
Lemme know if your interested...

Ohhh ok, kinda like a bunch of mini mods or smaller atleast.
That sounds like a good plan, I can't wait to play it.

Let me finish up something I'm working on for a friend of mine then I can model something for you and you can tell me if you like it.
