Can you sell HL2 after playing it?

Hi,
Not got the game yet as I ordered it online and it doesnt arrive till next week!!!!

Once the game is completed, as I have bought it for single player mode only, can I sell the game or lend it to my mates?

Reason I ask, is that I presume the CD key is sent electronically thru the internet when I first install the game. Will this stop me selling it or giving it to my pal who may like to play it after ive finished with it??

yeah the cd key is only useable on one steam account, so you cant sell it to someone to resuse...

however, i spose what you could do is sell your whole steam account to someone?

You have to sell the steam account to them. You can't just give them the box and CD key. When they try to unlock it it will say "CD Key is used by another account" or something like that.

Valve has said that it is illegal to sell steam accounts. People have tried to sell them on eBay and been shutdown.

Maybe you can unregister the cd key, so you can no longer play the game. and the person who you sell it to can open a new account and register the cd-key, as vabvle will know the cd-key is no longer in use.

Yeah, but you can't move it to another Steam account. But it did say "not supported at this time" so it may chnage in the future.
