I was wondering the following. If I buy CS:CZ now and use the CD-key to load the CS:S beta over Steam, will I be able to play CS:S when beta ends as well? Or do you need Half-Life 2 to play CS:S when it's out of beta stage?
The reason I'm asking is the following. I prefer the retail boxed version of HL2 (perhaps even SE), not the Steam download. But since I live in Belgium I wouldn't be surprised if HL2 retail will be a couple of weeks after the USA release. So then I could play CS:S both during & after beta with my CS:CZ CD-key. And when HL2 is out in stores here I could buy it.
But if I can't play CS:S anymore with the CS:CZ key as soon as beta is over, then I'm still facing several weeks of not playing any Source game until HL2 is in stores in Europe.
