Cannot contact the Steam Network

Steam refuses to open for me again but this time it appears to update, then I get a message that says "Cannot contact the Steam Network, please try again later." I know that it says try again later but I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten this problem. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything.

It happens occasionally. You just have to wait it out.
