cant get out of prison

hi--i am going mental here!!! :frown: at the end of chapt 9 ( i think) where ya are getting out of the prison, and it is where you have to get up on the ledge, before the walls close in on ya. just before the end of the run, i CANNOT get past that pile of rubble that is there. the 'jump' command barely seems to work at all there? suggestions???? thanks

There is a box in there that you might need to use to jump on to get you in so you don't get crushed. However, I don't remember needing to use the box to get to safety, but since you say you can barely jump, it's worth a try.

ok, thanks, but yeah i have tried with and without the box, but i just cant get past that pile of crap. :angry: :angry: getting damn frustrating.

Anyway, I used the box, if you cant just get some other random junk... You'll get it eventually

:angry: :angry: i musta tried at least 50 times now but the prob persists!!!! When i get to that pile of rubble at the end--i CANNOT get past, no matter what i do. Jumping, sprinting, tossing the box-arghhhhhhhh i am going mental here!!! I NEED HELP. is there a way to just skip that part? it is pretty much the end of that bit anyway, isnt it?? :angry: :angry:

oh, and even when i am at that pile, if i do hit the jump key--nuttin happens tho it seems to work other places.

Open the console up, type 'sv_cheats 1' then type 'noclip'. You'll be able to fly around now, so get onto the ledge, open the console and type 'noclip' again... you'll go back to normal, and can continue on. If I recall correctly, it is indeed the start of a new chapter after this small section.

Just wondering, are you going all the way to the end? Because, where you jump into is near the middle.

the middle??? hmm, nope, i was goin all the way. didnt see nuttin anywhere to jump up on, apart from that ledge on the end. no worries tho, i did as axyon suggested, and got out that way. sure was weird, that noclip thing tho--like a bad drug trip lol. (or at least so i been told.) thanks for all the help folks

You aren't supposed to run all the way to the end of that part, the way out is about halfway through, on the left. A little bit past the fire.
