Can't get through the gate... Is this a bug?

I'm at the beach with the buggy and I've just blown up the aircraft with the rocket launcher. There's a gate which some guy opens for me, but everytime he opens it it just closes again straight away. If I try to speed through it closes on me and kills me. If I press the gate button myself it just says "error" on the pad. Is this a bug? I've tried restarting the game but it still happens. :frown:

are you trying to walk through or drive through? how did you buy the game? in a box? download from steam? download from uTorrent?

Ah, I got through finally. Driving through.

Must be a bug; the gate just closes right away giving you about 2 seconds to get through if you time it right. I can't imagine it supposed to do that.

Yeah, it's a legal copy of the game bought from the shops

Does Steam automatically update the game to the latest patch or does it need to be patched manually?

if Valve releases an update for the game you will know it via Steam, but I don't think there's a problem...

I've had that happen to me on my first file as well, its a bug I think cus when i started a new file it didnt do it the second time, wierd huh?

Not that it matters now but the gate should stay open, at least until you go through it.
