can't instal

hey, i just got the game and i tried to instal it but when its on cd 1, half way an error pops up and says:

Error 1305. Error reading from files: C\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\ba se source shared materials.gfc. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Retry Cancel

Probably means your CD is scratched or the file is corrupted in some fashion. You probably have to call them to get a replacement CD.

Are you trying this on a DVD drive or a CD drive? I've found sometimes switching can fix errors like this.
