I'm trying to install Carnivores: Ice Age and Carnivores 2 on my pc, but I can't get it to run. The problem may be because I'm running on XP, and I read that someone got System Shock 2 to run on XP, so I was hoping someone could help.

The only thing about System Shock 2 that might help is CTRL+ALT+DELETE > Processes > Right-click the program > set affinity > disable 2nd CPU (usually CPU 1)

It was me that got SS2 working, I've never even heard of that game your playing, though...

Oh, Also install it to it's default directory, when you were installing it, did you change the default directory?

Hmmm. Did the control alt delete and went to processes and right clicked it, but didn't see "set affinity".

Don't bother with Ice Age, it's terrible.
It's just Carnivores 2 with a different location and 'different' animals.
Nothing else.

I didn't have a problem getting C2 on my computer... strange.

On some computers it's "Set Connection" just try everything in the menu, until you come up to a window that looks like this, disable the 2nd one.

I'd have to disable CPU 1, because it's the 2nd one..

Oh God, too late. Ice Age is horrible. Uninstalling now. Now C2 I can handle. No retina burning snow. And plenty of scaly bitches to cap.

Ah, yes I got it working by setting it's Compatibility Mode to Windows 98/Windows Me. It screws up whenever I try running it with Direct3d settings though. :(

Edit: Lucid, have you played Cityscape? I've heard some shit about it sucking, but I might get it anyway.

Stay the hell away from any Carnivore games that's after 2.

Cityscape is worse than Ice Age.
It's on the Serious Sam engine, yet it makes embarassingly shitty use of it.

The AI is non-existant... literally...
Hell, need I go on?

No need. The "AI is non-existant" part is enough. Is it even a hunting simulation like the others?
