can't load new point insertion level

i can't begin a new a point insertion game. it starts loading, then midway i get this

failed to open models\gman_high.vvd

after that, i click at the little half life 2 thing at the bottom of the screen and get this

The intruction at "0x241f94b7" referenced memory at "0x00fe0cc0". The memory could not be "read."

my friend said to verify the files, how do i do that? anyone know what the problem is?

Also try running memtest86 which can be found at http://www.memtest86.com/. Its probably just to be on the safeside, but the error message you got is complaining about memory locations and being unable to read them.

Some one said they had this happening too. You have an ATi card, no? It seems thier new drivers are causing this, you need to go back a set of drivers for the game to work.
