Cant play in offline mode NEED HELP

hi.....i have downloaded garrys mod and i cant play offinline anymore.....wondering if any of you can help me.

What is the error?

The secret to playing offline is that Steam can not see a network connection or it will give you an error (sadly I don't recall the exact verbiage).

So try reaching around and pulling out your Ethernet cable and then reboot. Alternatively you can right-click on your network icon in Windows and then select "Disable." Just be sure that you have a clean boot and Steam is NOT running. In fact I've pulled Steam out of my startup so it doesn't launch when Windows boots.

if you are an AOL user make sure you upgrade to the latest version of AOL

the error is that ' the operation cannot be compeleted when steam is in offline mode.
