cant play s-mod or half life 2

iv reacently compleated both s-mod and HL2, and started playing G-mod. Now, when i fire either of them up and start a new game, it loads, i see the half life 2 logo fade in, then instead of g-mans charming mug i see "half life has encountered a problem and needs to close"
WTF? WT F-ing F
i reacently added a large toolpack to g-mod, but i cant see how that affects it.

You're the guy with the pirated copy. Of course it doesn't work properly with G-mod and its add-ons. Go away. Pirates don't get help.

i just thought maby that, seeing as g-mod and half life are linked by steam, this my be the problem.
now less pointing fingers and more helpful suggestions plz

everytime i try to start a new game on half life 2 or s-mod, it gets as far the half life2 logo, then it says hl2 has caused an error, and needs to close. it also happens whenever i go thru certain doors. im thinking its somthing to do with loading the modles/scripts

I keep saying, it not a pirate!! it worked perfectly for about a month, maby month and a half. now neither s-mod of halflife2 will work. (sorry for any confusion, g-mod works fine)
iv tried reinstalling, and now s-mod wont even start, but the problems the same for half life2.

Start a new thread, list your FULL system specs - including what operating system you use, ensure that ALL of your drivers, directX etc are FULLY up-to-date, and post a screenshot of your Steam games list, with your user name, and your new thread clearly visible in the background. That would be a good start.
