Can't run VIS! HELP!!

I cant run the VIS command cause i miss a PRT file of my map or something. :( Is there any fix for this?

Implies that the BSP process wasn't run or didn't finish properly.
 
I have had a problem with running vis also. if I run the map without checking vis it works ok, but if I run with vis it loads slower and slower untill it crashes. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Del i can end the Vvis.exe prcess and the map loads. uum.. ???
 
If you run the map without vis it won't run ok, it will run, but your fps will be crap plus if you don't run vis you can't run rad wich means the lights won't be calculated, wich means your map will run with fullbright so it will look really bad.

And vis doesn't run slower and slower, the calculations takes longer to complete for the last portals and vis rarely hang, it just doesn't give a good feedback on what is happening so if you let the compile run for a week it's gonna finish.

Now if your map takes a week to compile something is wrong, so you can search the forums on tips to increase the compile speed. (func_details, hint brushes, nodraw). Just let Hammer compile the map overnight and it'll probably finish to compile. One of the maps I made for CS 1.6 took 1 month to compile so don't be surprised if yours take more than an hour.
 
Any open surfaces that player doesn't see should be textured with nodraw, not only does it not screw up VIS, it also really cuts on compiletimes. I got mine down to half (Even though it was just a small map I had started building), from a minute to only 30 seconds.
