Cant see the console

im trying to see the console but i cant see it.
i already gone to advanced options and still nothing.
cant anybody help me??

Still doesnt work.
my game is half-life 2 that includes cs:source , Hl: Deatmatch e Hl:lost Coast and the console doesnt appear.i already press the ~ key and still doesnt work.

could anybody help me??

And you've got it enabled under Keyboard\Advanced Options? You've ticked the box, and clicked OK?

You probably have an Azerty keyboard.

You just have to go to your cfg folder (steamapps/.../Half-Life 2/HL2/cfg, I think), and make a file called autoexec.cfg.

To do this, open up notepad, type the following

bind "f12" "toggleconsole"

(f12, or any other key you like, that is.)
Then save the file as autoexec.cfg in that folder. Make sure it's not autoexec.cfg.txt, because that will not work !

You could also add -console to your launch options. (Right click on HL2 in your steam list, choose options, and hit the button launch options)

Have you tried doing the following?

• Open up Steam, and then click on the "My Games" tab.
• Right click on the game you want to use the console in and then click on "Properties".
• Now you should see a menu were it stands "Set launch options...", open it up.
• Now you should see a new window pop up, type “-console” (without the quotes) right in the field and then click OK.

Now when you start up the game, the console should be activated. Be sure to launch the game from the "My Games" tab or otherwise (although I'm not sure on this) if you launch it from the desktop/start menu the console might not be activated.
