for about a month i've been having major problems being able to sleep at night. I can lay in bed for 2-3 hours straight and just can't sleep. Eventually I get bored of doing nothing I just get up and go about my day. I can only sleep during the day right now, it is really confusing me?

it's a pain in the arse now because school just started and i'm exhausted all day and just wanna sleep. I'm only able to get 4 hours of sleep a day, even if i'm really exhausted i still have to lay in bed for awhile to fall asleep.

is it some type of insomnia? i've always been a night time guy

I've had this trouble for five years now. I fall asleep about 2 hours after I go to bed. You get used to it.

you can always see a doctor and get some meds.

Do you exercise regularly? If not, consider it.

I have had trouble sleeping all my life but ever since i started running and working out I basically drop dead as soon as I hit the pillow. It's got to do with the metabolism which is very important for a good nights sleep.

You need melatonin as well which you get by being out in the sun during the day and trying to darken down the house later on at the night. Try not to sit at the computer right before you go to sleep either, because it's basically like staring into a lamp.

Try listening to some soothing ambient music as well, maybe turn something on to listen to throughout the night.

Sleepbot is a good station, they vary between alot of regular "ambient" atmospheric music and avantgarde-ish sounds as well as hour-long recorded environmental sounds; forests, rain, hawaii waves and birds etc.

www.bluemars.org has 3 good stations too, more regular "mainstream" ambient.

http://www.bluemars.org/bluemars.php is one of the stations, it varies alot with some beats in some songs.

I'd recommend http://www.bluemars.org/cryosleep.php though, it rarely has any beat or rythm at all, very soothing and nice when you want to hit the sack.

Same problem. Only exception is when ive stayed up for more than 24 hours. I have stayed up all night several times because of insomnia - sometimes even on school days.
I seem to live in a state of constant drowsyness.

The only reason I can't sleep for an hour or so at night is because I keep thinking about things. The less work your brain is doing the better. If I just clear my mind and close my eyes I normally fall asleep.

I used to have this problem. I just started running more everyday to get me tired and to get me in better shape.

Now I run and jump on shit.
