Can't start Episode 2

When ever I try and run episode 2 I get this Error, "This game requires atleast directx 8 to run."

It was working before, but now I can't play anymore.

Has anything changed between when it was working and now?

Try reinstalling DirectX.

If that doesnt work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

I tried to put -dxlevel8 in launch options for better performance.

I reinstalled/redownloaded twice already today, still same error.

Do you have a DX8 capable card?

"-dxlevel8" isn't a proper launch option, try "-dxlevel 80".
