can't update drivers

whenever i try to install the 66.93 driver, it wont work! it says that microsoft is already running another hardware installation, and it says i have to wait until its finished before i can start to install this one. im not even installing anything else!!! and i really need this driver for hl2 to run better, so can someone please help me fix my problem!

this is a driver related issue right? when hl2 crashes and a window pops up and says:

The instruction at "0x241f7c37" referenced memory at "0x00c9f5c0". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

so if i update my drivers itll fix this right? and please answer my above question to.

did you tried to format your cpu then reinstall in first the 66.93 driver's ?.... i guess it'll work... Or It can be a virus problem wich always using files that microsoft or nvidia updates needs... btw you should try to format...

if i reinstall windows xp will that be like formatting it? cause i dont know how. and does my first post look like its a problem with the drivers or something else?!
