Can't view random movies...

Ummmmmmmmmm........this ones just plain....weird. For some reason I can't view certain .avi movies and certain mpegs and mpgs. I have divx, quicktime, and wmp and none of them can play these videos. These videos range from some of my camera taken videos (which play most of them, but not some, yet theyre all the same format), to episodes of family guy im tryin to watch. any ideas?

Try seeing if you have the correct codecs. You can sometimes see what codec you need in the file properties, other times you just have to guess. There's several codec packs out there that have the commonly used ones. I think the K-Lite pack has most of them, but I also have the Matroska pack (not sure what that has though). Both are available online.

Not sure why some of your videos don't work though (if most do). What does the program say when you try to play them?

Yeh it looks like you don't have the correct codecs to view the file. You need to look for codec packs that will support the videos you want to watch. Here is a pretty good looking codec pack: http://nimo.titanesk.com/modules/news/ There is a download link on teh left hand side of the page and also you can look to see what you are getting in teh codec pack.
