Valve today announced an agreement that brings a collection of Capcom's current and future PC games to Valve's Steam digital distribution service. Under the arrangement Capcom is the first major Japanese software publisher to sign on with Steam. Gabe said...
Capcom is a worldwide leader in development and publishing of action adventure titles. This initial set of Capcom titles coming to Steam, as well as those coming at a later date, are a perfect fit for the millions of action gaming fans connecting to Steam each week.
Available later this week, we will see Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, coming in the next few weeks will be Onimusha 3. Then Lost Planet: Extreme Condition currently scheduled for release on June 26th. Then later this year we'll see Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo hugely enhanced. Even more coming to Steam, it seems everyone sees it as the way forward.

Why are we only talking japanese console ports here? :|

Lost Planet = Terrible Port
RE4 = Terrible Port

Not so cool now eh?

Lost Planet is a terrible game in general. But I do like many of their other games. so good news for me and for steam.

*shakes fist at Glenn for getting the big news first*

:p

:D

Great news for Valve and hopefully future good Capcom games will be released.

They had better issue the PC version patch as part of the download if they offer Resident Evil 4 on Steam.

And mouse support. Jesus Christ.

Oh yay... Capcom's going to plague Steam with their incredibly shitty ports.

Just like popcap games and the list goes on and on. Don't say that Valve is getting major publishers with great games. Those publishers are bringing some major trash to Steam and trying to make a buck any way they can.

PopCap makes solid games, I just wouldn't actually pay money for them.

Not really :D

Just Glenn e-mailed me about this after his posted it

Heh, well the press releases that Doug emails are just for us to get news out fast. I always forward them on to the news team too so they see them first as well. Tis always nice to look through them. I'll be sure to leave some for you in the future ;)

I was pretty disappointed with the Resident evil 4 port. I thought I was going to be able to use a keyboard and mouse to its full extent... ah well its nice they decided to join up I guess.

I liked the Lost Planet demo and I llllllllluuuuvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Puzzle Fighter. <3

Kore ga "supa glaphical PC vulsiona" rya da! Sora yo! :D

*fingers crossed for online SF3:TS*

just need one title from the back catalog

I demand Street Fighter II for online play!

Do you guys literally race to post news?

Its an arms race - and I have the Time Zones to help ME!!!

Though it is good to see more and more come to Steam... They will soon own the online market.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a fantastic game, but I'd never play it on a PC. It's much more fun playing split screen with an audience.

Never going to happen. 360 exclusive, bitches. :/

Well damn... hopefully they'll fudge up their exclusivity like what they did to the poor GC (with RE)...

Bah, not going to happen. :bonce:

EDIT: Wait, does a 360 exclusive just mean it won't get ported to other consoles? I mean, Halo has been ported to PC (albeit crappily).

Glimmer of hope :D

Halo PC was one of the better console ports, imo.

Seriously! I thought the game was fun and the vehicles handled really well. I'm not lying here or bs'ing either it just was a really fun game. I'm going to get Halo 2 once Vista gets sorted out though.

I find shooting enemies that are at exactly the same spot in the same room which gets repeated (literally) three times in a row, not fun. But to each his own :p

Anyway, for those shitty ports you have the metacritic scores. They usually give a good view who will like this game and for what reasons.

The multiplayer is what I play it for... couldn't care less about the singleplayer, although it was a fun romp.

My only wish would be if they released an online multiplayer port of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. It won't happen, but a man can dream!
