However, with the release of the new "Incredible Hulk" DVD, those who were hoping to see Cap make his cinematic debut (yes, debut ? we're just gonna forget about the original 1990 film) can finally catch a glimpse ? and the key word being "glimpse" ? of Cap and his mighty shield thanks to the new highly-touted alternate opening scene which takes place in the Arctic Circle, where a despondent Bruce Banner goes to kill himself having failed to come up with a cure for his curse.

Granted, those who want to see Cap will need the help of a super high-definition television and DVD combo, but if you look closely ? very closely ? he's there in the background, frozen in ice just waiting to be found and reanimated a la his classic comic book origin. If you need further help spotting him, the fellas over at SlashFilm have a great series of photos as well as a drawing showing the outline of what's clearly Captain America and his shield. Regardless, between this and Nick Fury's appearance at the end of "Iron Man," Marvel continues to give fans plenty to be excited about for their upcoming films.

Neat.

DC > Marvel. But honestly, whatever.

On average Marvel > DC.
DC have some of the very best characters, but their overall ensemble is weaker imo,

I dunno man. Blue Beetle is pretty tight.

Their movies certainly seem to be. I am not super confident about a Captain America movie turning out well, esp. not with this political climate being what it is. At least we as a nation and as a world will have had time to get further away from Team America: World Police...that can only help us. :E

I did read somewhere recently that they were looking to mix franchises in the future with their movies.

The truth is that Hulk has had two films in the past five years, and it's time to give some of the other guys a turn. But certainly what we are doing is suggesting and cross-pollinating the characters between films, and like reading a comic, I'd like to set that expectation that anything can happen - and anyone can pop up - in anybody else's story. I would expect that people may see the Hulk again soon before he is again carrying his own film.

I'm guessing Hulk will appear in the Captain America movie as a side character.

They're making origin movies for all of the Avengers and then somewhere down the line they're going to make an Avengers movie itself.

In a May 5, 2008, report to shareholders, Marvel Entertainment announced the release dates for two planned Avenger movies. The First Avenger: Captain America (working title) is scheduled for May 6, 2011, followed by The Avengers, scheduled for July 15, 2011

the missing avengers who havent had origin films yet:

Ant-Man - script being written

Thor - script being written

DC have the best character, but Marvel have more good ones. And also DC gets minus seventeen points for keeping the rubbish that is Superman going for so long.

Minus 17? Come on, at least minus 42. It's the answer I tell you!

DC was a joke till the mid to late 80's ..they were easily a decade behind Marvel in the types of stories they'd produce

nah, the independent stuff is much much better ..the big 2 produce the occasional work of some merit but the independents is where it's at for good story telling ...I havent collected in a long time but publishers like kitchensink press or self published work is usually miles ahead of the typical mainstream superhero stuff

for my money Miracle Man (the alan moore and Neil Gaiman years) was one of the best written superhero series, and it was absolutely nothing like anything in mainstream ..there's no way they would have touched it

Valiant Comics > Every-mother****ing-body

Yeah you heard me.

Marvel movies > DC movies

Batman series is by far the best superhero movie series, yeah. But I can't think of any other movie besides Superman...

A Green Lantern movie'd be awesome. A movie with Hal Jordan vs. Sinestro, I'd pay to see that.

Actually if they did a movie with the Lantern Corps vs. the Sinestro Corps, man...it'll never happen, though.

I must be the only Dark Horse fan... its cold in my party room :(

Ah yes, good old Star Wars, The Mask (the original stuff) and The Thing! comics

I love Dark Horse comics. They created Machiko Noguchi, and for that they will always hold a special place in my heart.

Just throwing this out there ... am I the only one that saw nothing but a dark blob/shadow in the ice?

In the first picture it's hard to tell but in the second picture its pretty hard to not see the shield. You can see the red and blue.

As cool as the Green Lantern is in Justice League (pretty much my one exposure to the character) isn't his weakness the colour yellow? That's almost as gay as Superman's random weakness.

The ring cannot affect things that are yellow. They aren't "weak" against yellow, not in the sense that Superman is weak against kryptonite.

Also after Parallax was banished from the main battery, the Lanterns can overcome the fear of yellow with enough willpower.

Also, Alan Scott isn't weak to anything. The only weaknesses Alan Scott has are weaknesses he gives himself, because he's that badass. He wrote the book on willpower. A movie with Alan Scott wouldn't be that cool though, because nothing could stop him. He's not even technically a Lantern, even though he's the original character named Green Lantern. He's basically God with a power ring.

Just dip his hand in yellow paint and he's ****ed.
