Car CD Player No Working

Hi,

I have a Goodmans GCE 7355 MP3/WMA/CD Player in my car.

Rover 214 SEI 1.4i 16v

And in the last 2 weeks cd's have started to skip and now they no longer play, it says on the panel Error 1?

Ive checke dthe manual and there is no such eror code wtf!

So anyway i bought some compressed air & cleaned the inside of the player, and then cleaned the lense by taking the unit apart, but cd's still not work. The radio plays fine.

Shall i try a cd lense cleaner?

Any help appreciated, Thanks
 
My cd player did the same. And I had tried everything. It turned out that it would not play becuase me car was over heating. I dont know how that makes sence but...I fixed that problem and now it works fine. I would read your manual and look under CD player. Other than that I would say best of luck to you. Hope you get it working soon.

Hi thanks for the reply But how did u fix it from overheating? Turn on the heat controls in your car to exhaust from the engine.
 
Yeah, that and i had to put coolant in my car. And it has worked every since.
 
Running the heaters does almost nothing to cool the engine. Think about it, an engine runs at close to 100 centigrade. If any significant portion of that heat was coming out of your fans, a/. they would melt, and b/. so would you.
