Hi,
I have an 85 Toyota Cressida (very nice car for its day..the 'lexus'...still nice today!). I recently recieved speakers and a new headunit for christmas. I got kenwood 4"s in the front and in the rear i have pioneer 6x4's...but they are supposed to be 5x7s. best buy rigged them to fit. Anyway, i absolutely HATE the pioneers, no bass at all.

I am getting new speakers for the rear for <= 140. Do you guys suggest that i buy Alpine, Infinity, Boston Acoustics or Cerwin Vegas?

And I'm getting the correct size...5x7's

pioneer 6x9's are for the bass, sound quite good for the price. the only proper bass your gonna get is through a subbie, wich means you need an decent amp aswell.

as for high end sound quality, boston accustics can steal your cash. quality sound. you wont get much base out of 5x7's no matter what brand, 6x9's are the way to go, they should come with spacers.

Alpine. I got a kenwood deck, alpine speakers, R12 alpine sub with compastor, 400w amp going to the speakers, 375w rockford pushing the sub.
Excelon too, holds up to 20GB of memory...its wild.

I don't want a subwoofer, i just want decent bass out of speakers. My friend has a camry with a 500w alpine amp power 2 6x9 cerwin vegas and 2 6x9 boston acoustics

its soooo nice sounding..though yours is probably better tokin

Burnzi - i dont know if 6x9s will even fit in my rear. I mean the front can only take 4 inchers becuase the speakers are in the dash.

Go with alpine or boston acoustics, those can cost a crap load though!

they will stick up a bit, but they should come with spacers, its a big sedan, you should be fine
