what should i buy i want to play hl-2 @ 1024*768 en detail on highest.

search a litle further it can be much cheaper ;)
but if i was you go for x800pro vivo and flash it to a xt p.e
or just get the x800xt pe

what are you'r other specs?

i know have a P4 3.0 ghz, asus P4C800-e deluxe mobo , 9700 pro , 1 gig. ram.

i rather not flash. i just want to buy it and i want it to run good at standard. But i think i could get a 100 euro discount in that store.

Your video card is fine!

I can play at that resolution with settings maxed (No AA or AAF though) with my 9600pro

i get 50-70 fps

3000+ barton, 768mb 3200

yeah, a 9700pro is absolutley fine. it will run great. if you really want to spend $600 to get more AA or AF...well then your retarded. Wait it out a little bit, and maybe buy one of the the next generation of cards.

if you are going to be running at 1024x768, id go with a 6800 regular. it handles 1024x768 very well. now if you start going to 1280 and 1600, thats where the x800xt, 6800gt/ultras shine.

would a 6800Gt from leadteak (bulk version) be good. i also want to play with this card for 1.5-2 years. would this be possible ??

yes the leadtek 6800gt is one of the better GTs, ive heard some overclock pretty high with them. theres really no way to tell how long it will last. 2 unknowable factors would be: types of engines coming out in that time period, and how much you are willing to tolerate slower FPS as more complex games come out.

i dont want to overklock my card. i just want it to be good at standards. what would you recommand ?

Get either the 6800 \ 6800GT \ X800 XT PE

Just don't get the

Sapphire ATI X800XT Atl PCI-X VIVO,2xDVI, 256mb, Retail @ 633.46 euro
incl. BTW

You listed as it looks like an PCI-E part which will not fit your motherboard.
