Case choices

The inside of the case is nice. The outside looks more like a refrigerator, or a big hunk of metal. Maybe i just like the cases with the lights etc.

the outside looks like crap the case needs to look good not old

See, I have a black case with a window and lights right now. I don't exactly care for flashy. Looking for a change. I look more for functional with a sleek look I guess. (Lian Li cases are classic examples)
Haha and your are right, it does sort of look like an appliance (they also mention that in the review).

I wonder if I can return that case that I had....hmm :).
Just wow. From the review it sounds amazing.

I know exactly how you feel. I used to have a flashy windowed case too. But for my new compueter I wanted that sleek look. So I got the Wavemaster, and I am very pleased with it. Has a removable motherboard tray, and some other stuff too. All in all I think its a really nice case.

I have a Lian Li PC65b and I love the thing to death. I remember when the case came in, I ripped open the box, saw it and just melted.

some of the thermal take cases look great, I almost got myself one

Cases? pfft I have all my computer parts duct taped to the wall:thumbs:

The P180 is a great case, really good cooling I think. The only thing I would mention is that you need to make sure that your psu cable is long enough and you will need to spend a long time getting the wiring just right. These are the most common comments from the p180 owners thread at forums.overclockers.co.uk where I first found out about the case.

But yea Asus, I'd say deffinitely get that case, looks badass. WIsh they made one with a window tho, I like my UV reactive cables ;[. Then again I suppose I could always mod my own...hmmmm.....

omg- that looks so nice and tidy!
My flatmate just got a Lian Li V1000A, but its such an open case and its really loud. Looks great tho.

The V1000A is loud? I always thought it was decently quiet from what other ppl said.

Its not sealed- its got holes all through the front of the case, you can see them on photos- so if your inside fans make any noise, you'll hear them for sure.

WooT
Compusa now has the Antec P180. Got to see it in person and it is quite the case. Probably pick it up within the next few days. I've got a 100$ product with TAP that is 'broke' so i'll be able to trade it out for the case and only pay 20$ more. =p

That would be a good case, except they have filled it up with noisy 8cm fans. You really need to use nice and quiet 12cm fans. I'd stick with teh P180, heard good things about it, just make sure your psu cables are long enough and that you tidy the cables well for the best airflow.

Well got the case early today. Had it up and running with all my PC parts in about an hour and a half. Very very quiet, especially over my old case. My old case had 5 80mm case fans (though I removed the blowhole fan).

me want it lol

The heatsink hovers above the memory. It's a thermalright XP-90.
I have my memory on the lower 2 slots and the top slot is empty.

Yeah that looks like a nice case too. Though I didn't want it to be flashy or fancy. That was my old case. I was just looking for simple, expandable, quiet but yet also very good cooling. Can't beat having up to 4 120mm fans and with the split design I can keep my CPU fan on low with my 2.4GHz OC (43C load).

Besides...I only paid an extra 50$ for the case.
Had a product that was 'broke' and I exercised my TAP (replacement plan) for store credit. =p

Looks like a great case asus, pretty neat wiring too. Can you post your opinion on how strong or weak the door is, I have heard that the door can seem pretty flimsy but others say its pretty strong. The reason I ask is that I'm wanting to get a new case as mine is alittle noisy with 8cm fans and I'm torn between the P180 and the Akasa Eclipse 62.
