Hey, I'm at an impass here.. I'm looking to upgrade my system and these are the things which I'm going for.

System I have now is a pre-built computer that I bought several years ago, I've upgraded my graphics card and added a new HD.
This is what my system is now:
Intel Pentium 1.7GHz
512 SD Ram (OUCH!)
ATI Radeon 9500 Non-Pro Softmoddable (with some artifacts, but it's all good)
2 HDDs, 40 GB, 120GB Western Digital
Standard network card, modem card
FDD and CD RW
"Intel" motherboard (pretty crappy)

Keep in mind I'm in canada so if you quote prices please put a currency w/ it
What I am looking to go to is this:
Athlon 64 3000+ $305 CND (Socket 939 too expensive)
2x512MB=1024MB Samsung DDR 400 $126x2=$252 CND
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe VIA K8T800 $164 CND
or
MSI K8N Neo Platinum nVidia nForce 3 250Gb $190 CND
Pioneer DVR-107 8X DVD+/-RW +Black OEM $119 CND
ATI Radeon 9500 Non-Pro Softmoddable (same one as above)
Western Digital 120 GB HDD (same one as above)
standard network card $peanuts CND
standard FDD $peanuts CND

What I'm looking for is a case and a powersupply. I know pretty well what I want, but every case I find there's something in the way.
Here are some cases i've looked at:

REALLY heavy, it's 32 lbs! I've even lifted it myself, it's a heavy bitch

This is a nice case, but it doesn't come with a power supply, I wouldn't buy this because getting packaged Case w/ PSU is much cheaper

Good case, but apparently the PSU spikes and that makes me weary too.

The case I'm looking for is mostly like this:
Full Size/Server Size Black Aluminum
Supplied PSU
Front USB ports
Lightweigt
4 or more fans, (2 intake, 2 exhaust) With filters on intake fans
Side window optional
thumb screws are nice, but don't really matter
About 3 or more HDD bays and several Drive bays to suit me
Slideout motherboard tray is apparently very convenient
Looks nice, no Xaser cases.

As for the PSU, a good 12V rail to fit my processor and about 400+ Watts of total power.

Thank you very much for any help/advice you can offer.. I just want to find that "perfect case" that I'll never have to change.

You should take a look at Antec. They make both very good cases and PSU's. Lian li are also reccomended as well as coolermaster, thermaltake and erm.. some one help me out. As for the cases lasting for you im not sure if the new motherboards coming out in a bit will be the standard ATX size, but i don't see why they shouldn't be.

edit: by new i mean these ones with all those new technologies PCi-e etc

i just caught a look at the Chenming 602 and was very impressed...
My only problem is this:

those are the fan mounts on the front, look how much metal is in the way! won't you lose more than half of your fan's air flow with that there?

here's another look at it.

I'm wondering whether I'm over-exaggerating this problem, or whether it could really reduce the effectiveness of adding the two front fans.

Your right, it will reduce the effectiveness but it will still bring in plenty of air into the case just not directly on your devices. So unless you had hoped for fans blowing directly on your gfx card and drives, it should be OK. ;)
If there is nothing important about the metal you could always cut it away. lol

yah, well if i did that I might be cutting the HD drive rails 0_0
