Case temperature, safe?

What is a safe case temperature? I think I may be overheating since whenever I start up a game and play for 10 minutes or so it crashes. I am at around 42 degrees Celsius during play. Also, what is the normal temperature on a video card? Please help as soon as you can, thanks!

That seems pretty warm....but it depends on the ambient temp alot.....

i push about 36c under full load fro an extended period

It depends on whether you have an AMD or Intel chip also. But honestly 42celcius isn't that bad.

not really.... like i said it depends alot on ambient temp....how many case fans you have and how they are set up.......also gfx cards throw off a damn lot of heat..and if you have a lot of harddrives and cd/dvd drives going they create some heat to

<----52C with a front and side intake, one outtake, and thermaltake giant II heatsink/fan for my video card, still have the temp.

wow 36c on load.. what are u running a p2 ?

You shouldn't worry about cpu temp as long as you have the proper heat sink and fan on you cpu and gpu.

I'm a stock cooled overclocker!

I need to get some case fans and a better heatsink. Christmas is just around the corner, so yeah, I'll try to cheap weezle my way out of paying for computer parts again.

42C is actually pretty damn low for what you have. When it gets above 60C then you should start worrying.

you realise we are talking about case/mobo temp not cpu temp...?

i run a 2600+ @2.21 ghz

and a 9700pro @ 371mhz core/337mhz mem

if anyones case/mobo temp is 60c....you have problems.....

Stop worring about your mother board temp, unless you overclocked the bus speed, it shouldn't over heat.

depends on were the probe is and if its even reading the natural ambiance of the case... i think not.
Mines at 33-35 and well who knows..
my thoughts are more on my m/b,cpu,mos rather than the box it goes in..
