Is up on Xbox Live! Holy crap this game is the BALLS.

Getitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetit.

:D

Also add me - BadHat54. SOSOSO much fun in multiplayer.

Getit.

EDIT - Heads up to anyone who's thinking of purchasing - the netcode seems a bit screwy at this point, sometimes frequently dropping out of games which also makes you lose any experience/weapons/pets you've obtained since your last save (which only happens between stages). Still highly recommend it, but you might want to wait for a fix and avoid some frustration instead. Then again, it seems like some people aren't experiencing this at all, so you might get lucky.

What in the **** is castle crashers and how much does it cost?

1200 points, and well worth it. It's a side-scrolling 2D beat-em-up ala Streets of Rage or Little Fighter made by flash animator Dan Paladin (also Tom Fulps, the Newgrounds dude). Awesome animation style, absolutely beautiful in motion. You start with four characters and can unlock 20+ after that, they all have their own unique attacks and magic types (fire burns, poison saps health, freeze locks enemies in place etc). You can level them up and place stats in different attributes, find new weapons, and gain pets who all have little unique bonuses. There's a whole bunch of levels too, and a PvP style arena mode (also a weird food minigame I haven't tried much yet).

Basically it's awesome.

Some videos here, but you should really grab the trial if you can - http://www.gametrailers.com/game/3041.html

One thing that sucks a bit - the netcode seems a little dodgy. I played a bunch of games with two guys but kept dropping out randomly. Not a biggie in itself, but it seems like it only saves your progression between stages, so if you crash right on a boss fight or something then you lose all the levels and weapons you've gotten since the beginning of that level. Pretty annoying, but the multiplayer is truly awesome so I'm willing to tough it out until they patch it (hopefully).

I might download the demo. It looks to be like Alien Hominid which by the way I have yet to beat. Someone should get on Live and beat it with me. Also, I'll download the trial and see how I like it.

Woke up and purchased it first thing this morning. I'll play it tomorrw (school work and a concert today)

i did this for two reasons.
1. i want to support the idea of more original ips and the like on XBLA instead of more lame arcade ports.

2. i remember seeing this game last year and it looked totally awesome so i've been waiting ever since for it.

is it less difficult than Alien Hominid by any margin? cause that game was a beast in the difficulty department.

This and Braid have made me very happy to have a 360. Have not had a good reason for that in a while. :D

At some points it seems less difficult than Alien Hominid, however, there are some bloody hard parts in this game. It's rather fun though. Since I bought Alien Hominid (I don't know if it's true or not), I have the Alien from that game as a character and I've been leveling him since. He has now turned level 18 in the game. :D

But if you had doubts about this game in general to everyone, this game is brilliantly designed. It's very fun and can definitely be a ton of fun on Live or with 3 other people.

I swear that I played this game several years ago

Game is fun. Ice Knight is cheesy in arena mode, I took the top in the leaderboards early in the morning in lifetime ranked just by using his cheap fist ice attack, I did so I could get fast wins for my achievement.

Way better than Alien Hominid IMHO.

I got it as soon as it was released at like 1:30am.

Are you thinking Alien Hominid? It has the same graphical attributes.

Oh no, I know I've played that game, but I distinctly remember playing this. The little knights with like fire, ice, poison, etc, and in the same graphical style as alien hominid. I have definitly played this game before this time.

Agreed. I actually got it after I posted. :p

It's extremely awesome.

Maybe you played it in your mind? D:

ya this actually caught my eye on XBLA and i JUST started downloading the trial . . .

You're not thinking of Little Fighter by any chance? Different art style but pretty similar gameplay, has characters with fire and ice attacks very similar to CC's.

Does anyone want to play this with me? I've been trying with Bad Hat, but it won't connect. Someone get on Xbox Live!

Shamrock013 is me gamertag. Get at me now! :(

Are the connection problems resolved yet? I have been gone for the weekend and haven't had a chance to test it yet.

GordonFreeman11
that's me, add me and we'll play if you're near Vancouver, British Columbia.

Who wants to play right now? I'm looking for a game! Ahhh!

Me and a friend bought this game yesterday. We've both gotten to level 39. So far the game has been a blast, but its getting a bit tricky towards the end, and lengthy. The game lagged out twice in a row right when we were about to complete an area. The game can also get boring/repetitive in some stages, killing the same things over and over. It's some what of a button masher. Bosses take strategy though.

There has also been some problems with people losing all their data and levels. I hope this doesn't happen or I'll be pissed.

i tried the demo and loved it, but i can't be arsed to pay for it

Holy shit, ****ing mega-bump.

FOUR MONTHS IN THE MAKING (for ****'s sake), but it's finally here... almost:

Jesus christ, gogo Microsoft cert. Anyone still have this/want to play? The game is probably dead and buried by now, but damnit I've been waiting on this patch and I'm not about to give up now. PLAY ME, BITCHES.

Well okay, maybe after Christmas.

(gamertag: BadHat NZ)

Jesus christ what a wait. Better late than never I suppose. Fun multiplayer game though.

Only ever played the demo on the 360 but it was indeed fun as shit.

Ahhhhhh and the whole-body-swaying glory of the shop music comes swelling back to mind, and with it all the happy emotions of playing the game.

Great great coop game. Get it if you have buddies and want to hit things for hours. Assuming they don't **** up the PC port somehow as is the trend now.
