Castlevania Movie.

/hopes it's based on Symphany of the Night..the BEST Castlevania game EVER.

ooohhh...i love Castlevania. that was the first game i ever got into on the original nintendo. definitely look forward to this movie...and yeah, eewww boll's absence is most welcome. everything that man touches turns to something...but i tell you it certainly ain't gold.

Paul W.S. Anderson is just as bad as Uwe Boll. Alien vs Predator anyone?

The only reason these people get jobs is because they can make movies on the cheap with 15 million dollars.

Event Horizon was pretty good and the first RE was OK, so it won't be tooo bad.

Event Horizon is the guy's only halfway decent movie.

A few things concern me here:

1) Anderson is both writing and directing. I think he's a decent director, but he's a shotty writer at best and his involvement, at any level, in the screenplay will dillute the hell out of this movie. I guess this is better than Uwe Boll. The words adapting and Paul W. S. Anderson usually are accompanied by grimm results.

2) Is this going to be Van Helsing? I think that's how most people will end up viewing this and another game adaptation will go straight to the crapper. This movie is loaded with potential.....all that is needed is patience. Don't rush into production. Layer the story...keep it interesting and stay true to the originals. At the same time, I'd keep the action simple. I would have to have this man raped if we get some BS techno-Castlevania in the year 5123 where the Belmonts have the vampire-killing arsenal of a small country. Please, not another Van Helsing.

3) God, please don't let Ryan Reynolds hear about this movie. Or for that matter the Rock, Vin Diesel, Arnold Schwarzenegger.....no action stars. Honestly, I think for this movie to be good, it should be taken seriously. It needs some acting talent. I'd like to see an up-and-comer get snagged to play Simon; like the kid who plays Superman on Smallville....his name eludes me. He has some acting skills. If I rememeber correctly, Simon Belmont was younger in the first Castlevania. Christian Bale sprung to mind also, but he's probobly going to be taken for a while with Batman, and rightfully so.

I agree, need some random, not so huge action stars here. Granted, I LOVE Arnold..he doesn't need to be here.

SoTN...SoTN...
