Whats the url for the DNA drivers? I have never heard of it.lazicsavo said:Ok, I tried the following on my 9800 Pro in a specific area of Doom 3:
ATI 4.7: 20-55 fps
ATI 4.9 Beta: 25-60
DNA 4.7: 30-60.
So, my opinion, stick with the DNA until ATI comes out with the 4.8 which I couldn't test (the beta).
[EDIT]: Sorry, all fps were taken at 1024 and high

Anyway - I guess you can't call them 'fake' because they come directly from ATi, but these are exactly the same as the 4.8 leaked beta drivers that we have already seen: I uncompressed the file and did a file-by-file comparison, and the dates and file sizes on everything except a few *.INI and *.INF files are the same (7/27/2004) - the only changes are in the SETUP files to make them look like they are beta 4.9 drivers. Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad EVERY other file is exactly identical - all drivers, all control panel files - EVERYTHING!
That being said - watch http://www.ati.com today or tomorrow for the release of the 'real' 4.8 drivers: they wouldn't post "hotfix 4.9" drivers for download unless they were just waiting for Microsoft to sprinkle holy water (i.e. "WHQL") on the already-to-release 4.8 version... Wink
