Which do you think is better?

Me, I'm going for cats, because they've figured out how to set up their lives so that they can spend twenty hours a day sleeping.

Even if they can be jerks occasionally.:E

personally i like dogs better. I like both, but cats r too indepent if theres such a thing, and when they grow up they dont like being around u anymore lol. At least thats what i found. Dogs always want to be around u and give u attention and treat u like yur the greatest. Also, dogs will defend their owners from threats.

My dog is a coward, and she puts her ass in my face when i sleep late :flame:
 
My cat follows me wherever I go.

Also, I've never had a cat hump my leg or sniff my crotch...

I like independant animals.

I dont have a pet, sadly (darn parents just HAD to be allergic, and it HAD to be genetical)...

But I would say cats. Somehow a dog feels unpredictable in comparison.
A cat is more like a sleepy teenager.
A dog is like a hyperactive 5 year old child.
Depends on the cat or dog though. I've seen some pretty slow dogs too :)
 
Umm... My dog is the lazyiest animal ever. Sleeps all day and night and bags for food 24/7. He is a Saint Bernard. I like dogs the best. I really badly hate cats. Their always mean. ALWAYS!!!

I have a cat with a dog personallity!

Its cool, you sit in the chair and he comes and lies on your lap and purrs. And then makes it all smelly.
 
Hehe, cats rule. They're clean, they're friendly (most of the time), they're independent, and they're space efficient! Best pet ever! I wuv kitties :cat:

Same here...

Although, the thing about cats being "independant" is that, cats are generally group animals. Many cats in the wild live with other cats in thier family. I think a lot of the reason why cats dont stay around people when they get older, is because the people dont set themselves up as dominant. I mean, im not saying beat up your cat but make it known that you are not jsut the hand that feeds it, you are also its master. once you do that, they stay around you a lot, and if you are siting or sleeping, they will come and sit with you. Obviously they go off ont hier own still, but they wont vanish for 23 hours a day and only come back for food.


Anyway...i still love dogs, in fact i think all animals are great. They are so simple, none of this cynical, image driven crap you get with people...well, lots of people. (Im not saying i value animals above people though:))

Actually, i remember a time when two dogs wandered into the back garden and were attacking my cat. She may be old, but she has had experience at not getting killed. She was on her bat, with the dogs trying to bite her. However, everytime they tried to bite, she would take a swing at thier noses and eyes with her paws. She even used her back leg to kick on in the mouth which was funny. Anyway, my dad ran out and scared them off...

Thats not neciserily true about cats being really independant. They are to an extent, but I've got a cat that will follow me to what ever room of the house Im in constantly. I've got another one though that will bearly let me touch her. But she's fun to play with.

Cats can defend you from people with allergies.
 
When I was really little my perants had this cat named, well........Cat. He was the meanest son ofa bitch ever. He didnt have a tail, because a car had rolled over it (before I was born). And he had some kind of skin problem so he didnt like being touched on his back. But anyway........he just about killed a dog!! Some lady was walking her dog (not sure what kind.....i know it was a big dog) by our house and Cat just ran right up to it and started scratching the crap out of it. Then the dog started to run from cat and ran into the street and got hit by a car. Luckly the person who hit the dog as a vet!

So...I win...........I had to grow up with the most evil cat on earth.


And he loved cheese.

i have both and love both....neither one is better.....


the only reason someone would say one is better or worse is becuase they have never owned one or had a bad experiance with one.

i'm late to the party! uhh, i would probably prefer cats, but i voted the last option because i'm tired of all these damn polls. oh and, it's Calvin & Hobbes baby! the greatest comic strip ever. one of the best things ever, honestly. i think it's from "yukon ho!" calvin says something like, "five of a tiger's six ends are pointy when he's sleeping" (i'm too lazy to dig it out of the book)

I should make a gallery of all my pets, you guys would think I was insane..

I have..

A 15 year old collie, a 9 year old mutt, 2 year and a half cockerspaniels (sisters, same litter), a 10 month old chow chow, a year old chihuahua and her 2 month old puppy

Now, for the cats :)

15 year old female, 10 year old male, 9 year old female, 8 year old female (my favorite cat, Miisha, she follows me everywhere), 4 (5?) year old male, 2 year old male
