CBS To Air "World Series of Video Games" Tomorrow

The New York Times has an article on a first for pro gamers: network television coverage of a match. Sunday at noon EDT CBS Sports will be airing coverage of the World Series of Videogames. Events will include Guitar Hero II, Fight Night and World of Warcraft 3v3 Arena combat.

Kind of weird to see something like this on CBS. I'll be watching anyways. Should be interesting.

Showing off World of Warcraft seems about as pointless as airing a golf game over TV; both are excruciatingly mind-numbing if you aren't playing yourself. Both are about as fun to watch as sexual intercourse between insects, but then people do watch golf right? I'm guessing this'll find its crowd as well. For its own sake, though, I hope they air some faster paced titles. Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Counter-Strike: Source, Gears of War...there are plenty to choose from. Some title that could get the crowd gripped.

Yeah the games they showed weren't very exciting to watch. WoW was definately the most boring by far. Counter-Strike: Source would have been a good one to watch.
