What the hell has just happened?

Can someone suggest something? I just went to burn a CD and I found that all my CD and DVD drives don't have drivers etc. I was going to try installing the motherboard drivers again but I can't because Windows can't find the drives to use in the first place!! This has never happened before and I've had a lot of installs on this machine already.

Anyone experience this before?

Gracias for any help :)

If you go into the BIOS, can you see them in there?

If both drives have disapeared at the same time, I would suspect a fault on the IDE lead, possibly somthing simple like them coming loose. Try unplugging it and plugging it back into the motherboard and reboot.

Try to update BIOS as well. You might have cleared it and forgot to make some changes again. You usually don't need drivers for CD/DVD drives.
